What stays the same?
Objects, arrays, strings, booleans, null values, and supported numbers retain their data types. Date-like text stays text. Comments and layout are not part of JSON.
Which YAML is supported?
One YAML 1.2 document with string keys. Standard anchors and merge keys are expanded. Duplicate keys, custom tags, circular references, and values that JSON cannot represent are rejected.
How are large numbers handled?
Numbers use JavaScript precision. Integers outside the safe range and non-finite numbers are rejected. Quote identifiers and exact decimal amounts to keep them as strings.
