Generate TypeScript types from JSON
How are TypeScript types inferred?
The generator inspects each JSON value and maps strings, numbers, booleans, arrays, and nested objects to TypeScript declarations.
Why can some properties be optional?
When objects inside an array do not all contain the same property, the generated interface marks that property with the optional ? modifier.
Should generated types be reviewed?
Yes. A JSON sample cannot reveal every possible API response. Review null values, empty arrays, dates, identifiers, and domain-specific unions before production use.
One sample.
Useful types.
Conservative inference
Generate clear types without assuming strings are dates, UUIDs, or enums.
Nested structures
Create separate declarations for objects and detect optional properties in arrays.
Visible warnings
Flag empty arrays, null values, and integers that could lose precision.
